  • What a great day for a run! - March 16, 2010

Written by David / 3 days ago / 0 Comments

Wow, what a great day for a run!  The weather definitely made everybody feel good to get away from their offices and lab benches!  We ran through the Alta Vista / Pooks Hill neighborhood today.  I hope more people can join us next week because these gorgeous days won't last forever!

  • In The Navy - March 9, 2010

Written by David / 5 days ago / 0 Comments

We had a fun time running through the National Naval Medical Center.  This was the first time we went over there and we still need to work on the route, but for the most part it was a new fun experience.  This was also the first time we had the Couch-to-5k group run the entire route with us.  Way to go runners!

  • Dashing through the snow...February 2, 2010

    Written by David / on 02/03/2010 / 0 Comments

Today's campus run turned out to be a very good group.  I believer there over 10 runners doing the 5k route and 5 with the Couch-to-5k group.  The 5k route took us into downtown Bethesda and back to campus using Old Georgetown.  There were some fun areas to jump through the snow as well.  Glad to see people are braving the chilly temps and making it out!

  • Fun Croud...trying new routes - January 26, 2010

    Written by David / on 01/27/2010 / 0 Comments

We had a great turnout for the run.  We tried a revised route where we went on the other side of Old Georgetown for the majority of the run.  We had to revise the route as we went along but came up behind Suburban and ran back to campus.  Everybody seemed to enjoy the route and it was a great day for a run.

  • Great weather makes for a great run - Januay 19, 2010

    Written by David / on 01/19/2010 / 0 Comments

Today we had great weather which made for a great run.  We did a counterclockwise loop around the campus and everybody finished it, in what seemed to be, record time.  Today was definitely nicer than the last couple of weeks so go get out there while it lasts!

  • 1st Run of the 2010 Season - January 4

    Written by David / on 01/09/2010 / 0 Comments

This was a great day for a run.  Starting off the new year right with our regulars and a brand new group of newbies to the world of running.  For the regulars, we did the Bethesda Trolley Trail route.  The newbies, who are part of the Couch-to-5k training group, were starting their running careers with a nifty training plan.  Contact Reaya FMI or check out the annoucement on the groups page

  • December 29, 2009 - Pre-New Year's Run

    Written by David / on 12/30/2009 / 0 Comments

Congrats to Eltavius, Akira, Robin Leora, and David for surviving the chilly, windy elements!  We ran the Pooks Hill route and survived!  Hope to see all of the New Year's Resolutioners out next week!

  • December 8th Tuesday Run

    Written by David / on 12/09/2009 / 0 Comments

Thanks to all those who came out and ran on this Tuesday's run.  We ran a new route that took us through the quaint and peaceful neighborhoods north of the NIH campus.  We started at the flagpole, ran to the Cedar ln exit, up Cedar to a right on Hempstead Ave, left on Greentree Ave and back to campus.  Let's hope the ice stays away so we can continue our weekly runs!

  • Pre-Turkey Day Run - November 24, 2009

    Written by David / on 11/27/2009 / 0 Comments

Great turn out for a run on a drizzly day.  Everybody ran the campus branch route and maintained a great pace.  This should have helped free up some caloric space for everybodys Thanksgiving day feast.  Hope to see everybody out next Tuesday to work off those extra 5-10 lbs!

  • Feds Get Fit Recap - October 27, 2009

    Written by David / on 10/29/2009 / 0 Comments

Thanks to all those came out for the Feds Get Fit event.  This was a lot of fun to see so many new faces.  i hope many of those newbies will decide to come out in the future.  We had a succesfful run around the perimeter of the campus.  Kudos to all those who did not let the rain scare them away!

  • Concept for new logo

    Written by Cindy / on 10/23/2009 / 0 Comments

    Hey group,

For a new club logo, what do you think about a skeleton in motion, with wings and running shoes? Just a thought. Maybe a more artistic club member could draw it up.

  • Thursday After Work Run: October 22

    Written by Claudia / on 10/22/2009 / 0 Comments

We were a four-runner group today meeting at the flagpole in front of building one. The weather was excellent, perfect for a run through Rock Creek Park. The traffic lights on Rockville Pike are, of course, annoying, but once we passed them, we very much enjoyed running next to the creek. We even discovered a small path leading to the park entrance on Cedar Lane avoiding the hills. Once you crossed Rockville Pike, take the first street on your left and there, you will see the path next to the creek. By taking this path we did not, of course, get ..
